Dr. Neelkant Shinde
Qualifications :
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Engineering - Specialization: Improving silicon solar PV cell efficiency.
  • Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Heat, Power, and Refrigeration Institution: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai(Achieved with distinction).
  • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Institution: Walchand College of Engineering,Sangli (Ranked third in the university).

Dr. Neelkant Shinde is a renowned expert in renewable energy and sustainable development, with over four decades of experience in energy conservation, solar PV and thermal energy, biomass energy, and energy-efficient infrastructure.

Currently, he serves as the CEO & Director of UES Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd., where he leads large scale renewable energy project development, policy formulation, and technological advancements.

  • An accomplished academic and researcher, Dr. Shinde has published over 220 research papers and has been an advisor to various national and international bodies on renewable energy policies.

Dr. Neelkant Shinde's career spans academia, corporate leadership, consultancy, and government advisory roles, making him a key player in India's transition to renewable energy. Prior to this, he was the Head of the Department of Energy Technology and Rural Technology at Shivaji University, Kolhapur, where he played a crucial role in transforming it into a premier institute for renewable energy research, industry-academic collaborations, and sustainable technology development.

Dr. Shinde began his career at Tata Power Company Ltd., Mumbai, where he contributed to India’s first 500 MW thermal power project as a Project Engineer and Control Engineer. He later transitioned into consultancy and advisory roles, specializing in solar PV power generation, energy efficiency, wind-solar hybrid systems, and sustainable architecture. Over the years, he has worked closely with government agencies, research institutions, and industries, advising on policy regulations, project management, and clean energy adoption.

He has played a key role in the development of solar parks, smart cities, and industrial clean energy projects, contributing significantly to India’s green energy revolution. With technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a commitment to sustainable development, Dr. Neelkant Shinde continues to shape the future of renewable energy innovation, policy, and implementation
